But then I have to look at France and Beirut and Tokyo and all the other countries who have essentially been dealt one hell of a hand in the last few weeks and I have no choice but to laugh at my own inane problems.

Sure, my own problems are as big to me as something else to others, but this week I have decided to take the attitude of digging deep and pushing on through...
So what's been happening I hear you ask?
Well, I started a new job that I love, in a new town that I'm getting used to and I have new (and old) friends to surround myself with. Things have just been difficult these last few weeks and adjusting to a new place is hard for me, especially when someone you care about a lot walks out of your life.
But I actually want to create a life here that I will love for years to come, so instead, I took the bull by the horns, as they say and threw myself head first into things.
Let's take a look at what I've been up to......
- The Adidas Half Marathon at Silverstone
Yeah that's right, I signed myself up to run another half marathon. It's only taken me three years to pluck up the courage but this time, I'm not under any pressure and I'm running solely for myself! :)
- Hiring a Personal Trainer
I finally got around to hiring someone to help me lift heavy things at the gym. The other day he had me doing supersets of deadlifts and clean & jerks and boy can I still feel it!! I'm finding limits and pushing past them, which makes me feel great!

- Learning to Drive
Okay so this one I haven't actually started yet, but I have had a few lessons before and I'm already studying for my theory test so hopefully, I will be able to get my pink licence soon!
- Starting to Spin
I am really nervous about this one- people keep telling me it's brutal and I am not sure I can endure that!! But I am starting Spin classes as of tomorrow! I'm hoping this will count as my cross training
session whilst I'm training for my half marathon and will help to build my stamina further.

So the next time life hands you a bum deal, don't wallow or dwell, just accept that sometimes things don't turn out the way you hoped they would and you create the path you take from here. Bad things do happen sometimes, choose to handle them with grace and self respect- you deserve it!
